Enlarge the girder size

Continue working in the file you created earlier. The goal is to change the section size and Placement Point of the right-most girder in the back corner of this structure. Zoom in to the top of the steel column at grid location C4.

Do one of the following to activate the Modify Structural Attributes tool:

Key-in STFMODIFY ATTRIBUTES.

or

Select (Modify Properties).

Your status bar prompts you to identify the element whose structural attributes you want to modify, so select the beam on the right. Regardless of which tool is selected, the Modify Structural Attributes tool settings window opens. Under the Placement tab, turn on Section and specify a section size of W14x22. Turn on Placement Point and select the Bottom, center placement option, with the placement point at the center of the bottom flange.

Click in the view to apply. Watch as the beam size is increased, and the change in placement point relocates the beam over the column.
